A brand of engineered, dependable plastic film and bags for the construction and home improvement industries. The Steelcoat® product line includes contractor bags, heavy-duty plastic sheeting, painter’s plastic, and masking film.
Our History
Steelcoat® is one of the oldest divisions within Petoskey Plastics. Our products have been a staple for construction and home improvement projects for many, many years. Steelcoat® was trademarked in 1983, only two years after the company bought its first computer! Branded initially as Steel-Coat, the line produced 2-ply heavy-duty shop bags. Originally manufactured in our Petoskey, Michigan, plant, the line has since expanded to production in Morristown, Tennessee, and McKinney, Texas.
The product line steadily expanded into our current diverse set of offerings. As we worked with customers to provide top-quality products, we developed our unique Grip N Guard® technology for painter’s plastic. Grip N Guard is designed to easily cling to walls and other surfaces and attract debris and dust particles to protect the area.
Not only do we sell Steelcoat® branded items, but we frequently partner with retailers and distributors to manufacture their private labels and brands.
Our goal is to include recycled materials to the greatest extent possible, whenever possible, in our products.
